Understanding the Early Years (UEY) is a national initiative aimed at strengthening the capacity of communities to use quality local research to help them make decisions to enhance children's lives.

The project is community focused involving children, parents, teachers, schools, community agencies, business and government.  Quality data on children's readiness for school is collected and presented on a local level.

This information will then be used to address local Community program needs, improve on quality of  programming and inspire initiatives to support Early Years Development.
